Zero Macau knowledge not a problem, says WTCC leader Björk
FIA World Touring Car Championship leader Thed Björk insists he’s not worried that he’s never raced in Macau before.
Björk heads the standings by 16.5 points with two weekends remaining, starting with WTCC JVCKENWOOD Race of Macau from 16-19 November.
Unlike his closest title rivals, Björk has no previous knowledge of the demanding Circuito da Guia street track and will travel east from his native Sweden potentially on the back foot in his bid to claim the coveted FIA world title for the first time.
But the Polestar Cyan Racing driver isn’t concerned: “New tracks have been going quite well for me and my progress was quite fast in learning tracks and I hope I can also learn Macau fast enough. My goal is to continue scoring strongly and consistently.”
