Bennani still fighting for WTCC glory
Mehdi Bennani hasn’t given up on winning the FIA World Touring Car Championship when battle resumes at the all-new Ningbo International Speedpark from 13-15 October.
Bennani, a former winner of WTCC Race of China, is fourth in the standings and 36 points off the title lead in his Sébastien Loeb Racing Citroën C-Elysée.
Speaking on a programme dedicated to the first half of his WTCC season aired on Eurosport earlier this month, Bennani said: “We are winning points, we are still fighting to win this championship. There is a lot of improvement and work to achieve but I am sure it will pay one day.”
Bennani is a two-time winner in the WTCC this season with victories in Hungary and Portugal. He claimed his maiden WTCC win in Shanghai in 2014.
