Muller: I can go one better in WTCR but it will be tough
Yvan Muller believes he can fight for the 2019 WTCR FIA World Touring Car Cup, even though he concedes the opposition will be 'tough” to beat.
Muller, the four-time FIA World Touring Car champion and arguably the sport’s most accomplished racer, will drive an all-new Lynk & Co 03 TCR, developed by Geely Group Motorsport and run by Cyan Racing.
Ahead of the new season getting underway at WTCR Race of Morocco from 5-7 April, last year’s runner-up acknowledged that being part of the WTCR 2019 Supergrid won’t be easy.
“I am ready for the 2019 WTCR season that is going to be a real challenge,” said the Frenchman, who lost out on the inaugural title to Gabriele Tarquini by three points.
“We have a thorough development programme that we are currently performing and while we will face tough opposition, I think we can challenge the top at the start of the season.”
