WTCC title still possible, says Huff
Rob Huff insists he can still win the FIA World Touring Car Championship for a second time despite heading into the summer break trailing Tiago Monteiro by 65 points in the battle for top WTCC honours.
Huff endured a frustrating trip to Argentina last month with seventh place in the Opening Race his best result of the weekend.
But he’s not giving up on emulating his 2012 heroics when he won international touring car racing’s top award driving for the factory Chevrolet team.
“We scored some points, while Nicky [Catsburg] did not finish in both,” said Huff. “Tiago scored a few more points than we’d have liked him to, but the fact that Norbert Michelisz won the second race and Yann Ehrlacher won the first was a bit of a blessing. It’s a bit of a long gap until the next race, but we’re still there in the championship, and we can still do it.”
WTCC Race of China takes place at the all-new Ningbo International Speedpark from 13-15 October when Huff will be in action in his ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport Citroën. Drivers can score a maximum of 60 points each race weekend with four remaining.
