2024 and 2028 Olympic Games may both be awarded in September

The International Olympic Committee is open to the unprecedented move of allowing both the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games to be picked at the same time in September.

As it stands, only the destination of the 2024 Games is due to be awarded at the International Olympic Committee summit in Lima later this year.

Both Paris and Los Angeles are in the running but the city which misses out could also get the 2028 Games.

IOC president Thomas Bach said: "All options are on the table, and this includes also the `24-'28 procedure and vote.
