The high-jumper confirmed he will be in action in Birmingham for the Indoor Grand Prix, the first of three major events the city is set to host next summer with the British Athletics Team Trials and the Müller Grand Prix to follow.
Grabarz, who is also a European champion and World Indoor silver medallist, will lock horns with familiar foe Erik Kynard of the USA – who narrowly beat Grabarz to Olympic silver in 2012.
However, Grabarz was left heart-broken in Rio as he finished joint fourth, behind Canada's gold medallist Derek Drouin.
The 29-year-old is however excited for the challenges ahead next season and says success in Birmingham could give him the momentum to go on and have a special campaign.
"I'm really focussed on an incredible year ahead. The indoor season is a chance for me to start the season strongly in an amazing year for athletics in Birmingham," he said.
"I have performed well in the past in the indoor events and hope that it will set me up for a fantastic 12 months of athletics across the UK, especially in Birmingham.
"The Müller Indoor Grand Prix is the ideal way for me to begin my journey to the IAAF World Championships in London this summer, as well as looking ahead to the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham."
