National Basketball Association roundup
July 13 (The Sports Xchange) - The New York Knicks have reached agreement with Sacramento Kings vice president of basketball operations Scott Perry to become the club's new general manager, CSN Chicago reported Thursday.
The Knicks met with Perry on Thursday, as the team continues to rebuild its front office following the departure of Phil Jackson last month. If Perry is hired, he apparently would report to Knicks president Steve Mills.
ESPN first reported the sitdown, citing sources who labeled the meeting "excellent."
Rondo played well in the playoffs with the Chicago Bulls before a thumb injury ended his one-year stay with the rebuilding franchise.
Free agent forward Paul Millsap signed a multi-year contract with the Denver Nuggets, making official what had been reported earlier.
While the club did not divulge the details, multiple outlets previously reported the agreement was for three years and $90 million.
Otto Porter Jr. is officially back as a member of the Washington Wizards.
The Wizards announced that they matched the offer sheet to the 24-year-old forward. Porter agreed on a reported four-year, $106 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets while he was a restricted free agent and Washington matched the offer to retain his services.
The Toronto Raptors acquired center Justin Hamilton from the Brooklyn Nets for forward DeMarre Carroll and 2018 first- and second-round draft picks.
The trade makes official what had been reported last Saturday.
