Tyson Fury to fight Wladimir Klitschko for world heavyweight title

The 39-year-old Ukrainian's WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO crowns will be on the line when the pair meet in the German city of Duesseldorf at the 54,600-seater Esprit Arena.

"Don't matter where this fight is, Ukraine, Deutschland, Japan, it will be the same outcome," Fury said on his Twitter account on Monday. "The Gypsy King will come out of this fight as the best heavyweight on the planet."

The 26-year-old has a 24-0 record while Klitschko has not lost for 11 years.

"Done deal," said Klitschko on his Twitter account. "Looking forward to the fight on October 24th."

Opportunity knocks for Tyson Fury. The British boxer will land an estimated £3.5 million for this bout, but he stands to earn much, much more if he can find a strategy to dethrone Klitschko. He has been calling out the Ukraine fighter for years, and now he finally has his chance. We can only hope he gives a better account of himself than fellow Brit David Haye did in 2011 when 'Dr Steelhammer' completed a one-sided victory in Hamburg.

"Tyson's now got the opportunity he's always wanted and it's now up to him to prove what he's been saying that he can get the job done - and I'm confident he will," says Fury's trainer and uncle Peter. "This is what he's been working for all his life. He won't be intimidated by Wladimir and the better the opponent, the better he fights."
