Leon Haslam moves closer to title with victory in Assen

The Kawasaki rider secured victory by 1.992 seconds ahead of five-time champion and title rival Shane Byrne.

Byrne edged an entertaining five-way battle for second, with James Ellison repeatedly swapping positions on the final lap before eventually finishing third. Sylvain Guintoli took fourth, with Josh Brookes and Bradley Ray in fifth and sixth respectively.

Haslam moved onto 596 points, 28 clear of Byrne and 36 ahead of Brookes.
