Namibia international Van Schoor dies at 25 after collapsing during match

Several media outlets have reported Van Schoor, who played more than 200 matches in all formats for his country, suffered a stroke.

Van Schoor was batting when the incident occurred in the Cricket South Africa Provincial One-Day Challenge game against Free State on November 15.

Cricket Namibia president Richard Frankle said in a statement on the International Cricket Council's official website: "It is with deep regret and sorrow that I announce the passing of Raymond van Schoor.

"Raymond was a tremendous asset to Cricket Namibia and the national cricket team. He was taken far too early from us."

ICC chief executive David Richardson added: "I am shocked and saddened by this news."

Van Schoor, son of Melt who played five one-day internationals for Namibia, made his debut for his country in 2007 aged just 18 and went on to amass over 8,000 runs during his career.

South Africa international AB de Villiers wrote on Twitter: "Sad news about Raymond van Schoor! Thoughts and prayers with family, friends and teammates."
