Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg claimed her first win of the cross country World Cup season in Davos to trim the gap to her compatriot Heidi Weng atop the overall standings.
Oestberg, who claimed a gold and a silver at Sochi 2014, crossed the line first in the 15km race – her first career victory at that distance – in Switzerland in a time of 37.44.4 minutes.
Her compatriot Weng, the overall leader, finished second 7.9 seconds back to continue her run of making the podium in every race so far this World Cup season.
Her lead atop the standings is now 70 points from Oestberg while Finland’s Krista Parmakoski was third on the day and also sits third in the overall standings.
The great Marit Bjoergen is not competing in Switzerland this week but stays fourth in the standings.
