The cross-country team sprint event makes it Olympic debut on Tuesday with two athletes alternating over six laps. The Finns, Norwegians and Swedes have all been successful in recent World Cup months and will be battling it out for the chance to take home
Germany's Evi Sachenbacher Stehle has been cleared to race in Tuesday's sprint. The 2002 relay gold medallist had been suspended for five days on Thursday. She will race with Viola Bauer.
In for a very good chance of gold is the women's Swedish team consisting of Anna Dahlberg and Lina Andersson.
Dahlberg and Andersson are ranked one and two respectively in the World cup sprint standings and will look to confirm their superiority of the sprinting events together.
Lind Bjoern and Thobias Fredriksson will carry the baton for the men's Swedish team while Jens Arne Svartedal and Tor Arne Hetland carry Norway's hopes of a first cross country gold medal of the Turin Games.
