"Beckie and I have been a team for many years. This is something that we are very pleased we could do it together, very pleased that we could do it at the Olympics.
On her second lap Renner lost a lot of time after her pole snapped on a climb.
"It got really tough after I broke my pole. I think that we had to pull a little extra out for that. You know, we are fighting in the top, and when you are in the top anything can happen.
"I was just wishing that I had a shorter pole. Honestly, I fought every moment; that is all you can do. Handle whatever comes your way. I think I did that.

Despite this little hiccup Renner managed to tap partner Scott on the back to send her off on the second lap and Scot was determined to make up for lost time.
"I think that when I started the second leg, and I was able to catch back up under the girls, the three girls that had made up a little gap after Sara broke here pole.
"Then I knew that all we need to do is to get back in the three-pack and we will be in medal contention. And then we just fight like crazy. I think that we both are pretty good at that when it comes down to it.
The motivated pair didn't come to the Games just to participate though.
"We came here with high expectations," said Scott.
"We were second in Canmore, we had good results and good successes in that event. We are both good classic winters. I think, you know, yeah, we expected a medal.

"Not before I crossed the finish line, because I was very tired on the last 50m,"
"'I thought that I should have started my finish a little bit earlier. But it was the right thing.
