WHEN IS THE VUELTA A ESPANA?
The race begins on Saturday 22nd August with a 7.4km team time trial around Puerto Banus and Marbella, and comes to an end three weeks later on Sunday 13th September with a 93.7km stage from Alcala de Henares to Madrid.
WHAT IS THE ROUTE OF THE RACE?
The 2,086-mile (3,357km) route takes a huge variety of terrain across Spain and, on Stage 11, Andorra. You can check our overview map of the whole route here, while the video below talks you through the highlights.
WILL CHRIS FROOME WIN?
Britain's finest cyclist - and on the evidence of the Tour de France, the world's finest cyclist - has an enviable record at the Vuelta, having come second in the race in 2011 and 2014.
But winning the event is a very different matter - and, more to the point, only two men in history have ever managed to claim the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana in the same season. For that reason, 2015 Tour de France runner-up (and 2014 Giro d'Italia winner) Nairo Quintana has been installed as the 9-4 bookies' favourite, with Froome second on the list at 3-1, 2009 Vuelta winner Alejandro Valverde at 4-1 and Giro runner-up Fabio Aru at 7-1. Spain's defending champion Alberto Contador is not taking part, having won the Giro and also ridden the Tour de France this season.
