Nottingham Forest h ave signed striker Apostolos Vellios from Greek Superleague side Iraklis Thessaloniki for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around £1million.
The 24-year-old Greece international has put pen to paper on a four-year deal to become the Sky Bet Championship club's first signing under new head coach Philippe Montanier , who replaced Dougie Freedman earlier this week.
"Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Greek striker Apostolos Vellios from Iraklis Thessaloniki," Forest said on their official website.
"The former Everton man has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at The City Ground and arrives following a successful 2015-16 season in which he found the net 11 times for Iraklis in the Greek Super League."
Vellios began his career with Iraklis before being signed by Everton in January 2011, but he made only three starts for the Merseysiders and following a loan spell at Blackpool departed for Belgian side Lierse in 2014.
He returned to hometown club Iraklis last summer via a loan spell at Danish side Vestsjaelland.
Frenchman Montanier, 51, was appointed on Monday, ending the club's three-month search for a replacement for Freedman, who was sacked in March.
