Silva, 23, won a penalty in Manchester City’s 3-0 win against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
Match referee Roger East adjudged that Burnley keeper Nick Pope had clipped the Portuguese player, much to the chagrin of the visiting side’s players.
Sergio Aguero stepped up to dispatch the resultant penalty in the 30th minute to send Pep Guardiola's men on their way to an eighth win in nine Premier League games.
The incident was referred to an independent three-man panel, who, it has been widely reported, cleared the player of any wrongdoing.
It is the first time the regulation, introduced at the start of the season, has been used in the Premier League.
