Olic has been unsettled at CSKA since Brazilian Jo stole the Croatian's place in the starting line-up while Hamburg are in desperate need of extra firepower upfront for their relegation battle after losing Benjamin Lauth on loan to Stuttgart.
"Everything happened too quickly, so I did not even understand how the things went," Olic told Sport Express.
"There is a possibility that I will play for Hamburg on Wednesday [against Cottbus]. I hope to play against Cottbus.
"I am happy that I will play in Bundesliga and in the city where some 60,000 fans attend the games every week.
"Yes there are some problems in Hamburg and the recent results were not perfect, but I am sure things will change very soon.
"Besides my wife and children live in Berlin which is not so far so I will fell in Hamburg pretty at home.
"Of course I will miss CSKA as it is the best team I have played for so far in my career. But I wanted to play and that was the only reason for my transfer request.
"I have a lot of friends in Moscow and I will continue my relationships with all of them. Now I fly to Hamburg to sign a contract as all the terms are negotiated already.
"I play to sign for two and a half years and CSKA will be benefited a lot as they will receive two million euros for me."
