Jose Mourinho rebukes Manchester United for gambling with ‘PlayStation’ football

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has called on his players to show more respect to opponents after accusing them of ‘PlayStation’ football against FC Basel.
United won 3-0 on Tuesday evening with Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford all getting on the scoresheet.
Mourinho stressed how impressed he was with the team’s performance but felt they switched off a little after they got the second goal.
"Three points are important at home. Until 2-0 we were very stable, we played with confidence.
“After the 2-0 everything changed, we stopped to play, we stopped to think, we stopped to play seriously, to make the right decisions on the pitch and we could have put ourselves in trouble. But they didn’t score and then the third goal came.’
Bad decisions, fantasy football, Playstation football, tricks and when you stop to play football as a team and play seriously I don’t like it and you gamble a little bit, probably the players felt the game was under control a little bit with the 2-0.
"But football is football and you have to respect your opponent.”
Mourinho was also full of praise for the much-maligned Fellaini, who opened the scoring with an excellent header after he was brought on to replace the injured Paul Pogba.
"I keep saying the same about Fellaini. He is a player with special qualities and he gives me multiple areas of action. He is one of my most important players."
United are back at Old Trafford on Sunday as they welcome Everton and their former captain Wayne Rooney.
