Here Press Association Sport charts Chelsea's route to the trophy.
THIRD ROUND - SEPTEMBER 24, v BOLTON (H) 2-1
Kurt Zouma scored on his debut, but Matt Mills equalised and victory was only assured after Oscar struck from 25 yards early in the second half. It should have been so much more straightforward for the Blues, for whom Andre Schurrle missed a host of chances.
FOURTH ROUND - OCTOBER 28, v SHREWSBURY (A) 2-1
Chelsea survived a scare to advance ahead of League Two Shrewsbury courtesy of Jermaine Grandison's own goal nine minutes from time. Andy Mangan had cancelled out Didier Drogba's third goal in three games, but the Blues prevailed in front of a 10,210 record crowd at Greenhous Meadow.
QUARTER-FINAL - DECEMBER 16, v DERBY (A) 3-1
Filipe Luis' superb free-kick helped Chelsea clinch a routine win over 10-man Derby. Eden Hazard had netted the opener, Derby briefly rallied after Craig Bryson pulled a late goal back but their hopes ended when Jake Buxton was sent off and Schurrle added a third.
SEMI-FINAL, FIRST LEG - JANUARY 20, v LIVERPOOL (A) 1-1
A Liverpool performance labelled "outstanding" by boss Brendan Rodgers was not enough to beat Chelsea, who took the lead through Hazard's penalty. Raheem Sterling's flash of brilliance earned the Reds parity ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
SEMI-FINAL, SECOND LEG - JANUARY 27, v LIVERPOOL (H) 1-0 (AET, CHELSEA WON 2-1 ON AGGREGATE)
Chelsea edged a frenetic, ill-tempered second leg, with Branislav Ivanovic heading the decisive goal in the fourth minute of extra-time as Mourinho's men recovered from their humiliating FA Cup defeat to Bradford. Diego Costa was punished retrospectively for a stamp on Liverpool's Emre Can.
FINAL - MARCH 1, v TOTTENHAM (N) 2-0
John Terry struck late in the first half and Diego Costa's strike deflected off Kyle Walker for a second as Chelsea suffocated Spurs to claim Mourinho's first trophy of his second spell as Blues boss.
