David Beckham says Jose Mourinho will bring the fear factor back to Old Trafford as Manchester United boss and can lead the team to the Premier League title.

Mourinho took over from Louis van Gaal earlier this summer with United aiming to force their way back into the Premier League elite after three disappointing seasons since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.
And former United midfielder Beckham believes that the Portuguese coach has what it takes to make the club feared again.
"Man United definitely need to get back to being feared again," Beckham said in an interview with Sky Sports.
"We were always a club -- and are still a club -- that when teams come to Old Trafford, they know they are going to be up against it and they know they are probably going to lose.
"I fully expect it to work, with Jose leaving Chelsea and now coming back into the Premier League with United, for me it is a great move.
“I had huge respect for Van Gaal, but it did not work out the way people expected it to. But I think at the end of the day, now it is a new start for United.
“We have had a couple [of managers] over the last three or four years, which is not the Manchester United style – we are used to a manager like Sir Alex Ferguson being in there for so many years.
“So now with Jose in there, he knows what he wants and how to get it, he knows how to win titles.
“I am going to have to say United [to win the league]. I will always be on that side of the fence. Both [with head and heart], I will always be on that side.”

OUR VIEW

The horse has bolted – United are not getting their old fear factor back.
But that doesn’t mean they can’t develop a new fearsome reputation.
Chances are that Mourinho won’t be at United for much more than three seasons, but the way the squad’s shaping up he could have a pretty intimidating team for that period.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney rotating as the main striker to save their ageing legs, with the pace of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford as inverted wingers – it’s classic Mourinho.
Throw in Henrikh Mkhitaryan pulling the strings as the main playmaker and maybe a new number six to add some drive to midfield and it’s looking like a potentially title-winning side.
The one remaining concern is the defence, but Jose’s not normally had problems in that area.
Sir Alex he is not, but Mourinho could be exactly what new Manchester United need.
