Rovers have been looking for a new boss following September's sacking of Paul Dickov and a lengthy recruitment process is nearing an end.
Lee Clark and Darren Ferguson are both reported to be frontrunners for the position, while interim boss Rob Jones has made no secret of his desire to get the role on a permanent basis, but he could be undone by just one win from his five games at the helm.
A club statement on Friday read: "The board of directors are currently conducting interviews and are very impressed with the high calibre of candidates for the role. The aim of this recruitment process has always been to secure the best person for the short, mid, and most importantly long term future, of Doncaster Rovers Football Club.
"Doncaster Rovers Football Club will be announcing the new first-team manager towards the end of next week.
"The new manager will be in charge for the game against Bradford City on October 17th. We want you join us here to welcome them next Saturday when they will be introduced to you all and our season can kick on."
Doncaster are currently 21st in League One and were dumped out of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy by York on Tuesday.
Former Leeds boss Neil Redfearn was heavily linked with the role, but he has since been appointed as manager at Rovers' South Yorkshire rivals Rotherham.
