90' - What a performance!

The rest of the match is played out in relative peace - one of the most impressive displays of the tournament so far, from any team. The world champions hit form at just the right time as they ease into the last eight with the minimum of fuss - the only worry for them is that next up for Jogi Low's men is Spain or Italy.

62' - That's three! Germany make sure of quarter-final spot

After looking like they've run out of energy Germany make it three from nowhere, a corner being nodded by Mats Hummels towards Draxler - who finishes with a volley hooked into the roof of the net. This result is now officially a done deal...

58' - Slovakia creep back into it

First Hamsik whips a left-foot free kick just over the crossbar, then Kucka rifles a long drive. Germany slowing and sitting back a bit now, but Slovakia have been restricted to these sort of pot-shots that Neuer is covering with ease.

43' - Gomez makes it two for Germany

Heartbreak for Slovakia as Germany dash up the other end of the pitch and make it 2-0, with Mario Gomez's sublime left-footed reaction shot allowing him to stab the ball home from inside the six-yard box after a fine run by Draxler.

41' - Neuer denies Slovakia equaliser with amazing leap

Germany goalkeeper Manel Neuer lived up to his billing as the world's best goalkeeper with a cat-like dive to turn Juraj Kucka's header over the bar. After looking totally in charge, Germany now seem to be slowing a little and letting Slovakia back in this.

24' - Ozil goes close

The Arsenal man has a chance to make up for his earlier error as the ball falls to him on the edge of the box thanks to Gomez's knock-down - but while he makes good contact, he drags it wide. He'll really need something to erase the memory of that very rare German missed spot kick.

13' - Penalty to Germany! BUT OZIL MISSES!

The Germans get a penalty now, with Martin Skrtel having shoved Mario Gomez in the box. Mesut Ozil steps up to take it... and misses! Well-saved by Matus Kozacik in the Slovakia goal.

8' - Boateng belts Germany into the lead

Magical moment! A left-wing corner is headed clear to the edge of the area where Jerome Boateng arrives on cue to thunder a low volley into the bottom corner.

PRE-MATCH - Goodbye Gotze

World champions Germany made one change to their starting line-up for their Euro 2016 last-16 match on Sunday, bringing in Julian Draxler for Mario Gotze on the wing as they face the last side to beat them, Slovakia.
