Porto confident Martinez will stay

The two teams clashed in the Emirates Cup this afternoon, when Porto fought back for a 3-1 victory.

Jackson Martinez was left on the bench against the club that is in negotiations to buy him for just under €40m.

“I don’t know if you noticed, but whenever Rafa Benitez came towards me on the touchline I’d move away, because I didn’t want him to ask about Jackson Martinez,” joked Fonseca.

“As far as I am concerned the case is closed. I am extremely confident Jackson Martinez will stay with us.”
