Welling skipper Wellard found the net after 34 minutes while Bakare wrapped up the win in the dying minutes as Barwell, appearing in the FA Cup first round for the first time, pushed up in search of an equaliser.
Former Coventry striker Iyseden Christie saw his close-range header saved on his line by Welling goalkeeper Michael McEntegart in the sixth minute.
Welling started slowly but should have taken an 18th-minute lead when George Porter saw his shot beaten away by Liam Castle. Liam Kay then did brilliantly to deny Reece Harris from the rebound.
The National League side edged in front thanks to quick thinking from Porter, who reacted well after his initial shot rebounded back to him via the inside of the post, rolling a pass into the path of Wellard to score.
Barwell exerted heavy pressure for long spells in the second half but could not find the breakthrough.
Harris wasted a clear chance of giving Welling a 2-0 lead before Bakare walked home another goal with the last kick of the game.
