La Liga have urged UEFA to investigate Manchester City over financial fair play after the club spent £215m this summer.
European football's governing body is already looking into Paris Saint-Germain's outlay after they forked out a staggering £198m to sign Neymar from Barcelona.
Kylian Mbappe has also joined the Paris club on loan but a deal is expected to be made permanent next summer at a cost of £167m.
Now La Liga have called on UEFA to focus their attention on City, after they topped the summer spending charts thanks to the £52m signing of Benjamin Mendy from Monaco and a £50m deal for Kyle Walker.
"La Liga calls on UEFA to proceed with its investigation, taking into account the full history of PSG's actions. Additionally, La Liga calls on UEFA to open a similar investigation into Man City."
"The funding of PSG and Manchester City thanks to state aid distorts European competitions and creates an inflationary spiral that irreparably damages the football industry," said La Liga president Javier Tebas.
"UEFA must enforce financial fair play regulations to prevent discrimination between clubs."
City have been owned by The Abu Dhabi United Group since 2008 and PSG are run by the Gulf state of Qatar, via its Qatar Sports Investments fund.
La Liga claim that "both PSG and Man City benefit from sponsorships that make no economic sense and lack any fair value".
