Ronaldo was quoted by Kicker as suggesting he would be open to leaving Santiago Bernabeu one day and president Perez stopped Ronaldo to enquire about what he said as the Madrid players arrived for Tuesday night’s match.
Perez reportedly began: “We need to talk. What did you say? We have to talk.”
Ronaldo was surprised by Perez’s approach, AS adds, and replied: “What did I say?”
The exchange was, AS suggests, light-hearted but with a serious edge to it, and Ronaldo added as he walked into the stadium: “I didn’t say that. I didn’t say that. I said something else.”
Perez also gave Ronaldo a gentle slap round the face, just to remind him who's boss at the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo had told the German publication: “Leaving Madrid? Why not? For now, I'm at Real Madrid, but you never know. You have to do what makes you happy, no-one knows what will happen tomorrow.”
