Real Madrid have confirmed that captain Sergio Ramos has broken his nose following a clash against city rivals Atletico Madrid.
The Real centre-back was accidentally kicked in the face by Atletico defender Lucas Hernandez and although he played on he was taken off at half-time.
Speaking after the game manager Zinedine Zidane said: "It is a fracture, for Sergio. I believe it's broken. I don't know how long he'll be out for."
The club have confirmed as much with a statement on their website which read: "He [Ramos] has been diagnosed with a fractured nose. His recovery will continue to be assessed."
Ramos tweeted himself to reassure fans he wouldn't be out for long.
Marca report he will play on in a face mask rather than undergo surgery.
Following the 0-0 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano both Real and Atletico are ten points behind Barcelona.
