Lyon, Marseille settle for draw while Monaco wins and jumps to 2nd

There was no separating Lyon and Marseille on Sunday. With both teams hoping to get a win that would propel them back into the race for a European place, they had to split points and neither side left happy. Remy Cabella scored the opening goal, putting Marseille in position to get a win, but Corentin Tolisso came off the bench and equalized 12 minutes from time to earn Lyon a point. Both teams are now on 3 points, leaving them eighth and ninth in the table.

To the surprise of no one, Monaco had no problems brushing aside Toulouse. Monaco are simply a far superior side, as evidenced by their place in the table, second, to Toulouse's, 19th. Bernardo Silva got Monaco going with the opening tally and Fabio Coentrao added one of his own to put the home side up 2-0 at the break. Guido Carrillo and Helder Costa each found the net themselves in the second half to seal yet another win for Monaco, who have now gone nine Ligue 1 matches without a loss.

An 89th minute goal earned Stade de Reims a very valuable point that has them just out of the drop zone. Aissa Mandi was able to nudge home the equalizer just one minute from time, pushing the home side to 23 points and one point clear of relegation. Jean-Cristophe Bahebeck put St Etienne 1-0 up, but they couldn't make it stand and slumped to a disappointing draw that has them three points from the final Champions League place.
