The arrival of Liverpool pair Jack Dunn and Kevin Stewart and Birmingham striker Denny Johnstone on deadline day boosted a Brewers outfit who are five points clear at the top despite a lengthy list of absentees.
Robbie Weir serves the second game of his three-match ban for his red card against Southend, while Florent Cuvelier, Mickael Antoine-Curier, Stefan Maletic and Callum Reilly (all hamstring) are sidelined through injury.
Hasselbaink is, however, hopeful of having Adam McGurk, Kelvin Maynard, Jacob Blyth available for selection.
Stevenage youngster Ben Kennedy plans to be back in time for the clash despite being on international duty with Northern Ireland Under-19s.
Defender Harry Worley (cruciate) returned for the reserves in midweek following a seven-month injury lay-off but is not expected to be risked just yet.
Midfielder Simon Walton is fit after a hamstring problem having returned on the bench against Dagenham last weekend and new loan signing Jack Jebb should feature.
Calvin Zola (hamstring) and David McAllister (both groin) are also closing in on fitness.
