Oates in at Pools

Hartlepool have made their second summer signing with the capture of striker Rhys Oates.

The 20-year-old has penned an undisclosed contract at Victoria Park following his release from League One Barnsley at the end of last season.

He made 10 appearances for the Reds but spent much of the campaign on loan at Chester and Grimsby.

Oates joins fellow frontman Rakish Bingham through the arrivals door at Pools as boss Ronnie Moore looks to build a squad capable of ensuring there is no repeat of last season's dice with relegation.
