Paul Hart back at Leeds as Academy director

Former Whites defender Hart, who previously ran the club's academy in the 1990s, agreed a deal to return last week.

The 62-year-old is scheduled to begin work in his new role on Friday, effectively replacing Neil Redfearn who resigned his position in the summer following a fall-out with club owner Massimo Cellino.

His appointment is the latest in a series of changes to the academy set-up. Former Hull coach Daral Pugh, once assistant academy boss at Leeds, has been named as head of coaching and former striker Andy Gray was brought in to run the Under-16 side.

Hart played for Leeds between 1978 and 1983 but is best remembered for his work with the club's academy 20 years ago, winning the FA Youth Cup in 1993 and 1997 with the likes of Paul Robinson, Harry Kewell, Alan Smith, Jonathan Woodgate and Stephen McPhail.

Hart, who has managed several clubs, has also been responsible for running the academies at Nottingham Forest, Charlton and Notts County.

He has been out of work since a short spell as caretaker manager of Notts County last season.
