Manchester United have signed 16-year-old Belgian midfielder Indy Boonen, according to reports.
The club have yet to confirm the arrival of the young attacking midfielder, but the Belgian starlet told newspaper HLN that he has been given a three-year deal following a successful stint on trial at Old Trafford.
"It's like in a dream," he told the paper's correspondent Kristof Terreur, in quotes shared via Twitter.
"The training sessions are hard, but I don't feel the tiredness when I realise I have signed for Manchester United."
Another Belgian publication, Het Belang van Limburg, reported that Manchester City, Arsenal, Feyenoord and Wolfsburg had also been keen to sign the highly-regarded youngster.
Boonen, who came through the youth system at Genk, turned 16 just a few weeks ago, making him eligible to sign a professional deal at United.
His younger brother, 13-year-old goalkeeper Seppe, is also reportedly to join the United youth system when the entire family moves to Manchester in the summer.
The son of 1990s Belgian professional Jacky Boonen, he had apparently been on United's radar for several weeks .
"He's a much bigger talent than me," Jacky Boonen told HLN, adding in a different report that Indy got a chance to meet his famous compatriots at United.
"Indy was especially impressed when he met his compatriots Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj," Jacky told Het Belang van Limburg.
Boonen becomes the sixth Belgian on United's books. The others are Januzaj, Fellaini, Andreas Pereira, Marnick Vermijl (currently loaned to Sheffield Wednesday) and Charni Ekangamene (on loan at Zulte Waregem).
