Tottenham remain within six points of the Champions League places as they banished the memory of their League Cup final defeat with an impressive win over Swansea at White Hart Lane.
Nacer Chadli gave Spurs an early lead with an excellent finish but that goal was quickly overshadowed as Bafetimbi Gomis collapsed as he made his way back to the halfway line.
The medical response was swift though and after a stoppage of more than five minutes, the French striker was stretchered from the pitch and taken to hospital, where he remains, reportedly in a stable condition.
Swansea rallied once play resumed, though, and were soon level as Ki Sung-yueng side-footed past Hugo Lloris as Spurs failed to clear their lines after Gylfi Sirgudsson had struck the post with a free kick.
Spurs reasserted their dominance in the second half and retook the lead as Ryan Mason powered home his first Premier League goal following a fine run from Christian Eriksen.
And Andros Townsend’s fine solo effort appeared to have wrapped up the points but a late Sigurdsson goal meant Spurs were made to endure some nervy moments, with Lloris pulling off a sprawling last-minute save.

8’ – GOMIS COLLAPSES. As he makes his way back to the halfway line Gomis falls to the turf. Luckily for the Frenchman medical staff rush onto the pitch and after more than five minutes he is stretchered away from the pitch on oxygen and taken to hospital.
17’ – CHANCE FOR SPURS! Eriksen flicks the ball to Townsend on the edge of the box who draws a good save from Fabianski.
19’ – GOAL! Spurs 1-1 Swansea. As Sigurdsson’s free kick comes back off the inside of the post, Swansea keep the ball alive and Ki is given room to side-foot past Lloris.
42’ – CHANCE FOR SPURS! Eriksen crosses right-footed from the left but it is too high for Chadli and Fabianski just manages to get a touch on the ball that take it away from Kane.

89’ – GOAL! Spurs 3-2 Swansea. Substitute Jefferson Montero gets to the byline before lifting a cross to the far post where Sigurdsson calmly side-foots home.
90+3’ – LLORIS SAVES SPURS! Swansea push forward looking for an equaliser and Lloris is forced to spring across his goal to deny Ashley Williams and preserve Spurs’ win.
KEY STATS
Tottenham are now unbeaten in their last eight home matches, their best run since March 2013.
Victory gave Spurs their third Premier League double over Swansea in a row. The Swans have now gone eight games without a win over Tottenham.
The win was Spurs' 350th in the Premier League era. They are the fifth team to reach that landmark after Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United.
Sigurdsson's goal was his fifth of the season, the same amount he scored in the whole of last season for Spurs.
TALKING POINT
Can Spurs qualify for the Champions League? Victory keeps the hosts six points off the top four with a game in hand and well in the hunt for a Champions League place. At times at White Hart Lane the pace and movement of Townsend, Chadli and Eriksen was too much for Swansea to cope with and for a spell in the second half it looked as though they were going to run away with it. However, the defensive frailties that have dogged their season were also on display and they needed some frantic defending, and a world-class save from Lloris, to secure the three points. Spurs have to play both Manchester clubs and Southampton before the end of the season but if they can tighten up at the back they might just be in with a shout.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Nacer Chadli (Tottenham): Has not always been a fans' favourite since his move to White Hart Lane but he showed his class against Swansea with a fine opener, and his movement troubled Swansea all night. Townsend, Mason, Bentaleb and Eriksen were also impressive.
