Beneamata Coach Roberto Mancini has spoken repeatedly about bringing the Ivorian midfielder to Italy, but director Piero Ausilio described a move as "almost impossible".
However, two Spanish newspapers report that a deal may not be as far-fetched as it may seem, with talks advancing between all parties.
Sport is running the line that Inter and Manchester City are in negotiations regarding the transfer of Toure, and have been since Janaury, when the player was competing in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Meanwhile, Francesc Aguilar of Mundo Deportivo claims that Toure has rejected the offer of a new contract with City, and his agent has entered negotiations with Inter, with a view to securing a transfer for next season.
Toure's current deal has nearly two and a half years left to run, and the midfielder will be 34 when it expires.
