Manchester United to chase Muller - The Star claim that Louis van Gaal will turn his attention to German star Thomas Muller, with Robin van Persie on the verge of an exit. Bayern Munich don't want to sell Muller, but United think that he can be had for £60 million and are prepared to pay that to strengthen their front line.
Paper Round's view - United desperately need help up top. Couple the parting of Radamel Falcao with the imminent departure of Van Persie, and it's clear they are short on numbers - as well as quality - in attack. Muller would be a terrific signing and would immediately make them better, but clubs like Bayern don't sell great 25-year-olds often. If United are actually going to land him, they'll need not just £60m (and probably more), but an offer of gigantic wages.
Sevilla want Chicharito - Javier Hernandez is in demand. The Mail believe that Sevilla are hoping to sign the Mexican striker, joining West Ham and Orlando City in the pursuit. United want £8m for Chicharito, who has just one year left on his contract and is currently sidelined for a month with a broken collarbone.
Paper Round's view - Chicharito is still a good player who can make an impact so it's no surprise that he has interest from several clubs. United don't have a lot of leverage with the striker having one year left on his contract and no place in the squad, but Orlando City may be willing to pay more money because of his drawing power as a Mexico star and that may push the market to the £8m United want.

QPR won't sell Austin for less than £15m - Queens Park Rangers have slapped a £15m price tag on Charlie Austin and won't sell him for any less, according to The Chronicle. "We have a valuation for Charlie and if nobody pays it then he will be staying with us," QPR director of football Les Ferdinand said. That puts Newcastle, West Ham, Chelsea and Leicester on notice that they shouldn't bother with anything less than £15m. Simple.
Paper Round's view - QPR have already turned down a £12m bid from Leicester for Austin so it's not a surprise that they're sticking firm on their valuation of the striker. With so many clubs still interested, they'll probably get what they're asking for too. It's also a rather fair price, with proven Premier League goalscorers hard to come by.

Tottenham want £15m for Townsend - Spurs will consider selling Andros Townsend, but only if their £15m valuation is met, according to The Mail. Townsend's future at Spurs is up in the air as he reportedly struggled to impress Mauricio Pochettino last season. Meanwhile, Aston Villa and Sunderland are both interested in signing the winger.
Paper Round's view - It would make sense for Townsend to join Villa, where Sherwood has always been a big fan of his and picked him regularly during his spell in the Tottenham dugout. Sunderland need help on the wings so they would be a good landing spot too. The problem is that £15m is a solid chunk of change for both clubs and Daniel Levy isn't one to budge from his valuation.

Stoke to get Van Ginkel on loan in Begovic deal - Stoke City have agreed to sell Asmir Begovic to Chelsea for £8m, but the Mirror understand that the Potters will also get Marco van Ginkel on a season-long loan as part of the deal. The Potters wanted to get a young player on loan if they were going to sell Begovic to the Blues and while Chelsea said no to Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Stoke were happy to take Van Ginkel.
Paper Round's view - This transfer has always looked like a matter of when it would be finalised, not if it would be finalised. Stoke will be happy to get Van Ginkel. He's a fine young player who showed flashes in Serie A with AC Milan a year ago. The big question will be whether the midfielder can stay fit, but if he can then it's a nice bit of business for the Potters, while Chelsea will be happy to get Begovic.

Fazio set to be jettisoned from Spurs - Federico Fazio's time at Tottenham may last just a year. Sources tell The Sun that Spurs are ready to give three centre-backs the boot this summer, including Fazio. The Argentine signed for £8m last summer, but Tottenham have seven central defenders now and are ready to sell him along with Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches.
Paper Round's view - Spurs have no use for Fazio, Kaboul or Chiriches. They already had Jan Vertonghen and Eric Dier, and have already added Kevin Wimmer and Toby Alderweireld this summer. That's a strong foursome at centre-back and leaves the other three with no place in the team. Spurs probably won't get a fat wedge for any of the three, but they can get the wages off the book and trim the squad.
