Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Guendogan, with reports in Germany suggesting a deal could be agreed this weekend.

The Germany international, whose contract expires next summer, has been frequently linked with a switch to the Premier League.
Arsenal and Manchester City have also been touted as potential destinations, but a story in German publication Der Westen earlier on Friday claimed he would favour a move to Old Trafford.
That speculation has now intensified, with reports on the continent claiming a 30 million euros (£21.5m) deal could be agreed by the weekend.
It’s the latest setback for Dortmund, who announced last week that manager Juergen Klopp would leave at the end of the campaign.
Guendogan’s team-mate Mats Hummels has also been heavily linked with a switch to United and incoming BVB manager Thomas Tuchel’s first task will be convincing the club’s stars to stay.
Dortmund are currently perched in ninth spot in the Bundesliga after a miserable season that saw them embroiled in a relegation battle for the most part.

Meanwhile, United manager Louis van Gaal refused to comment on reports linking the club with a move for PSV winger Memphis Depay.
"I don't discuss it with the media," he said at a press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash with Everton at Goodison Park.
"I have lot of relationships with players. I can't buy all the players I've coached."
