Manchester City have been handed a huge boost with the news that captain Vincent Kompany is set to return to face Tottenham at the Eithad Stadium on Sunday.

Spain attacking midfielder David Silva is also in Manuel Pellegrini's squad for the visit of the Premier League's second top side.
City are fourth in the table, but are only one point behind the visitors. They have been without Kompany and Silva - key figures in their title wins in 2012 and 2014 - for large swathes of the season.
The absence of Belgium central defender Kompany was noticeable in the 3-1 loss to leaders Leicester last Saturday that saw City slip six off top position.
“It’s not a decisive game but a very important game - after we play for another 36 points," said Pellegrini, who is without Bacary Sagna and Fabian Delph.
"For our team, it’s important to try to return to the top of the table. Two or three teams are in front of us in this moment so we must try to reclaim the points.
“We’ll see what the starting XI is tomorrow - we’re not just thinking about one player and one game, we’re involved in a lot of competitions. Maybe we have a lot of criticism when we don’t play well but I’m happy with the squad over the whole season.
“You’ve seen Kompany play for so many years I don’t have to say what qualities he brings, he’s one of the best defenders in the league."
