Manchester United made two changes for Sunday’s late fixture against Swansea City as Michael Carrick and Adnan Januzaj were replaced by Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
United beat Brugge 4-0 to secure their place in the group stage of the Champions League but required two changes in midfield.
Carrick dropped to the bench while the injured Januzaj was absent completely, with summer signings Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger linking up in the deep roles.
That meant Ander Herrera kept his place in an advanced role after impressing, and scoring, in Belgium.
Swansea made one change as Jefferson Montero missed out due to injury, with Wayne Routledge taking his place.
SWANSEA: Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Cork, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Ayew, Routledge, Gomis. Subs: Nordfeldt, Rangel, Bartley, Tabanou, Ki Sung-Yueng, Dyer, Eder.
MAN UTD: Romero; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger; Mata, Herrera, Memphis; Rooney. Subs: Johnstone, McNair, Valencia, Carrick, Young, Fellaini, Chicharito.
