Sacked Bilic statistically West Ham's most successful Premier League manager

Bilic was shown the door on Monday with t he Hammers languishing in the relegation zone after winning only two of their 11 games this season.

His two full seasons in charge, though, produced s eventh- and 11th-placed finishes with the former leading to Europa League qualification.

And over his reign as a whole, the Croatian has the best points-per-game tally o f the eight men to take permanent charge of the club in the Premier League era.

His 87 league games at the helm produced 116 points - thanks to 30 wins and 26 draws - a ratio of 1.33 points per game.

That places him narrowly ahead of nearest challengers Alan Curbishley (1.32) and Harry Redknapp (1.31), though the latter achieved that mark over a seven-season reign. The figures include Trevor Brooking's 14 games in caretaker charge, which produced a 64 per cent win ratio.

Avram Grant is the only manager to average less than a point per game with the club as he oversaw all but one game of the 2010-11 relegation season. He managed only 33 points in 37 games, or 0.89 per game.

West Ham also scored 1.41 goals per game under Bilic, comfortably the highest average ahead of Redknapp's 1.20.

However, surprisingly given Bilic's past as an uncompromising central defender, his West Ham teams have conceded on average 1.59 goals per game - only Grant, at 1.81, had a worse record.
