West Ham recovered to claim a 1-1 draw in their Premier League clash with Leicester City at London Stadium in David Moyes's first home game in charge.
David Moyes' second match in charge seemed to be going as poorly as his first when Marc Albrighton stabbed home Jamie Vardy's cross after terrible West Ham defending.
But West Ham seized the initiative, and as they sent in countless crosses from the left, a Cheikhou Kouyate header just before half-time levelled the scores.
In the second half, full-blooded collisions and tough tackling meant there were few chances in between physios treating players on both sides.
Andre Ayew had a penalty appeal turned down in the second half, to match Albrighton's thwarted appeal early in the first.
The draw leaves West Ham third from bottom, but a heavy defeat for West Brom could see them reach 17th. Leicester City move, however briefly, into 11th.

TALKING POINT

Should West Ham have had a penalty? Ayew span away from Harry Maguire with a slight touch, and perhaps might have had a spot kick if he hadn't thrown himself acrobatically in an attempt to convince the referee. It was, on balance, still probably a foul, but West Ham were lucky not to have conceded their own on Albrighton when they were 1-0 down in the first half.

MAN OF THE MATCH

Marko Arnautovic (West Ham): He has left the pitch injured in both games under Moyes, was sent off in his first match for his new side, and has also been out with injury under Slaven Bilic. Despite that, he has shown he has the quality to cause trouble against most defences, and his crosses could be the key to getting the most out of Andy Carroll under Moyes' straightfoward approach to the game.

KEY EVENTS

8' - GOAL! West Ham 0-1 Leicester City. Albrighton scores - Vardy saunters behind the defence, jogs past Reid, and drags a pass across the box. Ogbonna falls on the floor, allowing it to roll to Albrighton who falls and stabs home.
19' - OBIANG SHOT - Masuaku forces in a cross that is cleared as far as Obiang, and he drills a low shot wide of the goal.
26' - OGBONNA HEADER - Ogbonna glances a header from Lanzini's curling cross, and Schmeichel does well to pad it away.
28' - SCHMEICHEL SAVE - Lanzini has a free kick to the left of the box, and from a tight angle, he hammers a curling shot at goal that Schmeichel forces out away from goal with a flap.
45' - GOAL! West Ham 1-1 Leicester City. Kouyate scores - Lanzini curls in corner from the left, Kouyate is able to head freely at goal from close range, and it strikes Simpson on the line and into the net.
77' - PENALTY APPEAL - Ayew goes down in the box, and appeals for a penalty. Maguire is looking guilty, and as well he should. He catches him from behind and while Ayew launched himself to the ground, it could well have been given.
