Udinese defender Pablo Armero was arrested on Tuesday for alleged domestic violence towards his wife, local authorities have confirmed.

According to a Miami Beach Police arrest report, the incident occurred in the early hours after the couple had returned to their room at the Metropolitan Hotel from a night out drinking.

The full-back then wanted to get intimate with his partner, before she rejected his advances and he became violent.

The report adds their neighbours called the police as soon as they heard screams coming from their room.

When arriving at the scene, police officers found the woman grounded, in tears and without a tuft of hair, which Armero is believed to have trimmed off with a hair clipper.

The former Milan and Napoli man was also arrested by Udine police in 2011 after he refused to take a blood alcohol test.
