The ex-Juventus midfielder started a new chapter of his career in America on Sunday evening.
He only joined the team for training this week, but came off the bench at the 56th minute at Yankee Stadium.
Every touch of the ball was greeted by a huge cheer from the NYCFC fans.
‘Il Maestro’ wasted no time, immediately spraying trademark chipped passes to his team-mates.
The 37-year-old also earned his first yellow card late on for a shirt-tug after he was dispossessed in midfield.
It was a sparkling game that New York City FC won 5-3, though Orlando’s Cyle Larin was the stand-out with a hat-trick.
Kaka almost snatched the equaliser for 4-4 in stoppage time, but his free-kick hit the post.
Instead, the hosts went on the counter to seal it with Mix Disgerud.
