"I am an old man now, I am 36," the Brazil star said at a press conference in New York.
"I am no longer 26 like I once was, and I am looking at what I can do to mark an end to my career. The plan is to play one more year.”
The Brazilian, a two-time Ballon d’Or winner, has been without a club since he left Fluminense last September.
Ronaldinho’s contract at Fluminense was annulled after the 36-year-old struggled for form and fitness at the Rio club.
The Brazilian was the centrepiece to Frank Rijkaard's all-conquering Barcelona team that picked up the Champions League in 2006 but has lived a sonewhat nomadic existence since.
He moved to AC Milan in 2008 before leaving Europe for Brazil in 2011 when he signed for Flamengo and has since had spells at Atletico Mineiro, Mexican club Queretaro and Fluminense.
