Southend boss Phil Brown has been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month award.

The Shrimpers had a slow start to life in League One but climbed to mid-table with four wins in five games during an impressive September.

Burton manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, David Flitcroft at Bury and Colchester chief Tony Humes are also in the running for the award, which will be announced on Friday morning.
