After leading Lyon to their sixth consecutive Ligue 1 triumph, Houllier left his post as Lyon coach and decided to take a break from football.
Dynamo Kiev, themselves domestic champions and Champions League qualifiers, approached Houllier soon after his Ligue 1 success but the Frenchman declined their offer.
However after his decision to cut ties with Lyon the Ukraine league champions have again tested the water and again the 59-year-old is standing firm.
"To say that Kiev have revived their interest in me, that would be true," the former France manager told L'Equipe.
"But I can assure you that my position hasn't changed. I will not move over there."
Even the prospect of Champions League football at Kiev is not enough to tempt Houllier however it seems he has not completely ruled himself out of a managerial role.
"I am going to wait one or two months before deciding what I am going to do, but you will not find me in Kiev," said Houllier.
