The Scot, who spent 11 years in charge of Everton before unsuccessful spells at Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland, was named West Ham boss last week after the club sacked Slaven Bilic.
West Ham have dropped into the relegation zone with nine points after two wins, three draws and six defeats, and Moyes said his first task was to get three points in what will be his 500th Premier League game as manager.
"I could talk about the old days or I could talk about the future," Moyes told a news conference on Friday.
"I could talk about winning manager of the year three times in a row, I could talk about getting the biggest job in the world or I could talk about being one of the only British managers who has ever had a job in Spain.
"Now it's time to talk about what's coming next. And I've got Watford. I've got to try and get a team ready and prepared, who can put on a show and get us a result."
Moyes, who said this week that he would not curb West Ham's attacking instincts although they have leaked 23 goals in the league so far, felt his players had to work harder and singled out winger Marko Arnautovic as one who had to raise his game.
The Austrian, who signed from Stoke City for a reported fee of 25 million pounds ($33.05 million) in the close season, has failed to score or create a goal.
"I can't comment on the earlier games, I can only go on what people tell me and they tell me that they didn't think he's come up to the standard which he'd set when he was at Stoke City.
"I watched him at Stoke and he was the type you'd never be keen to play against because of his power and strength.
"The clips I have seen, he's not been a team player, but he wouldn't be the only one I would say that about... others are going to have to do the work for the team if they're going to be a part of it."
