Brett Williams scored his ninth goal of the season as Aldershot recorded a third Vanarama Conference victory from four games with a 3-1 win over Southport at Haig Avenue.
Aldershot started brightly and Williams' 16th-minute effort was deflected behind but from the resulting corner Joe Oastler nodded the ball on and Andre McCollin was quickest to react to turn the ball home from close range.
Just seven minutes later the visitors doubled their advantage when Williams was brought down by Luke George 25 yards out and from the resulting free-kick, Sam Hatton drilled a superb effort around the wall and past David Raya.
John Marsden headed wide when well placed in first-half stoppage time for the hosts but moments later they got themselves back into the game when Charlie Joyce nodded the ball into the danger zone and Richard Brodie touched the ball beyond Phil Smith.
Aldershot wrapped up the points 20 minutes from time when Williams capitalised on a slip from Clayton McDonald and rifled past Raya.
