A thoroughly professional performance coming to an end, Germany ending the match in possession.

Time almost up here and it’s been an impressive display from Germany. Won’t be too much stoppage time.
Tettey forces another Norway corner but too little, too late. Selnaes delivers and it’s a useful one but again Germany manage to deal with the danger.
Norway force a late and rare corner. In it comes but there is no consolation as Germany come away with the ball. They break quickly and Brandt fluffs his lines with a volley at the other end.

CHANCE! Jarstein denies Brandt a first goal for Germany with another good block after Ozil’s ball causes havoc in the box.
Good turn from Ozil in the box and it almost opens up for the shot but he’s crowded out at the last moment.
Just too much on the ball from Muller, meant for Ozil. Should be the other way around, ideally…
A long road to Russia in 2018 but a good start for Germany. They are bidding to become the first European nation to defend the World Cup since Italy. Brandt forces a decent save from Jarstein.
Into the final quarter of an hour and Germany still looking for another opening. Cross from Aleesami drifts out for a goal kick.

Still important for Norway to keep playing, keep defending in numbers. Goal difference could also be a factor in this group at the end of the day.
Nordtveit takes over the captain’s armband for Norway but it won’t be a winning game for him now.

The world champions playing well within themselves and still totally dominating possession. Some tired looking legs in red already.
Never a good time to play Germany but the start of qualifying was possibly the best chance for Norway. Hasn’t turned out that way.
Red shirts forward as Svennson storms down the right but his cross is cut out by Höwedes. Germany also solid in defence.

Yellow card for Khedira for a foul on King but the latter is lucky to escape with a red for a kick out afterwards. Just a yellow for him too.
Kimmich almost plays it through to Draxler. He’s had a very impressive match so far.
The passing has to be better and Diomande is a key man in this second half. No changes for either side.

Back underway here in Oslo and Norway with it all to do. Surely just damage limitation now but they must now take some risks.

HALF TIME: Norway 0-2 Germany

GOAL GERMANY! Ozil plays through a delightful ball to Kimmich and he rifles home past Jarstein.
Germany ending this half on the front foot. They force a corner. Kroos plays it in and it’s headed clear.
Draxler plays in the free kick but it’s cleared by the Norwegian defence. Very important for them to hold out in these remaining minutes.
Khedira taken down by Johansen and the Norway skipper is lucky to escape a booking.
Nobody forward for Norway and one loose ball invites another wave of attack. They will be thankful to get to the break just a goal behind.
At times, it’s a back five or six for Norway but Germany still finding space.
Hopeful ball from Johansen and it’s easily gathered by Neuer and played out from the back. Possession gifted away again.
Hard to see just how Norway are going to get back into this. Germany still totally dominant in possession and hunting for that killer second goal.
Dangerous cross from Kimmich and Muller can’t quite direct his header past Jarstein, who claims.
Half an hour gone and still Germany lead by that solitary Muller goal. The visitors have dominated possession but Norway have looked dangerous on the break.
Encouragement for Norway in the last couple of minutes. Draxler concedes a dangerous free kick. In it comes from Johansen but easily blocked by Hector.
Germany break and it’s a good block from Aleesami on Muller’s shot and Jarstein makes the save. Good stuff from the visitors again.
Not a spare seat to be had in this 26,00 seater stadium as Josh King has a great chance 18 yards out and shoots just over the bar with two of his teammates in a better position. Great chance.
Tettey strides forward and lets fly but he cuts across it and always curling wide of Neuer’s goal.
The onus now really on Norway to do something and they’re being urged on by the home crowd in Oslo. King can’t get onto a ball from Nordtveit and Neuer has it.
No more than Germany deserve. They’ve dominating the opening period of this match.

GOAL! Norway 0-1 Germany. And Muller opens the scoring for Germany, latching onto a loose ball in the box and beating Jarstein with his left foot, despite the best efforts of the keeper.
Kimmich goes down under a challenge from Aleesami and wants a free kick. Referee unmoved. Ran into him more than anything else.
Norway need to get a hold of the ball. Germany totally dominant at the moment.
SAVE! Decent cut back from Muller and Höwedes denies by a very good reaction save from Jarstein!
Not a bad start from Norway, doing well to contain Germany in these embryonic stages of tonight’s qualifier. Decent ball in from Hector, cleared for a corner.
A mistake from Hummels leaves King up against Höwedes but the defender blocks well for a corner. In it comes and Kroos heads clear.
Diomande caught offside as he tries to play a ball in to King. Dangerous cross from Muller is headed clear.
Norway sitting really deep, giving Germany a lot of respect. It will be their aim to hit the world champions on the break.
