Forest teenager Oliver Burke named in Scotland squad for opening qualifier

Nottingham Forest midfielder Oliver Burke, 19m has been named in a 27-man Scotland squad for their opening World Cup qualifier against Malta after scoring three goals in five games for the Championship side.

Hull forward Shaun Maloney. Aston Villa's Ross McCormack and Jordan Rhodes of Middlebrough are also absent from the squad, announced by the Scottish Football Association on Monday, with Steven Fletcher, Leigh Griffiths, Steven Naismith and Chris Martin the selected strikers.
Barrie McKay is included, but there is no place for his Rangers team-mate Lee Wallace.
Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald and Hearts goalkeeper Jack Hamilton are the two uncapped players in the squad for the away game on September 4.
