Panthers 4, Penguins 3 (Shootout)
Jimmy Hayes scored two third-period goals and center Aleksander Barkov got the only shootout goal as the Florida Panthers beat the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Barkov scored in the seventh round of the shootout for the Panthers (15-9-8).
The Penguins (22-6-5) had their three-game win streak snapped but still lead the East with 49 points.

Predators 5, Blue Jackets 1
The Nashville Predators scored quick-strike goals in the second and third periods and let goaltender Pekka Rinne do the rest, easing to a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Rinne had 30 saves while Craig Smith scored two goals for Nashville (22-8-2).

Capitals 2, Senators 1
The Capitals used second-period goals by fourth-line right wing Jay Beagle and top-line center Nicklas Backstrom, along with 38 saves from goaltender Braden Holtby to beat the Senators.
Washington (17-10-6) is in the midst of a 7-0-2 stretch and moved past the New York Rangers and into third place in the Metropolitan Division with 40 points, six behind the second-place New York Islanders.
